Regional Economic Development Coordinator
Classification:  Full-time, Non-Exempt

The Regional Economic Development Coordinator is an individual eager to play a key in partnerships formed to advance the economic health and resiliency of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. The position will be attractive to an individual who enjoys a semi-autonomous, creative, atmosphere, yet possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills to assist in bringing economic initiatives to successful closure by leveraging the visibility of an important regional organization.

Introduction:

As the Regional Economic Development Coordinator you will be working closely with the Executive Director  and Finance Department of the Tri-County Council to assist in the management and administration of a number of economic development grants. Your patience and attention to detail will aid as you coordinate and facilitate in a detailed manner committee meetings involving Tri-County Council and local officials to advance the economic goals of the Lower Shore region.

 

What is the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore

The Tri-County Council (TCC) was formed in 2001 by the Maryland General Assembly and charged with fostering partnerships, cooperation and economic development on a regional level for the three counties of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. In recent years, the TCC has successfully consolidated the operations of the three-county transit system, the regional work force development team and a regional economic development function into a 74,429 sq. ft. Multi-Purpose Center located on its 26-acre campus in Salisbury, Maryland. As the entity singularly charged with promoting economic development on a regional level in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties, TCC is positioning its existing resources in a manner calculated to have the greatest long-term and sustainable economic impact in the area.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to general internal and external communications with a broad range of community stakeholders in the government and private sectors.

*  Plan and organize meetings, conferences, and business gatherings throughout the year and produce accurate minutes in accordance with the Open Meeting Act.

*  Ability to oversee and administer economic development grants in accordance with application and reporting guidelines in close tandem with the Finance Department; This includes initial grant correspondence with the funding source, ensuring proper grant submission information, grant acceptance processing, grant completion and close-out, grant briefing for audit purposes and other related functional duties as required.

*  Manage the flow of information through the office of the Executive - Economic Development Department.

*  Assist with planning, administering and reconciling the annual budget of the Executive - Economic Development Department in close tandem with the Executive Director and Finance Department.

*  Work in close tandem with management and staff of the Administrative Services and Economic Development departments to organize and execute the Tri-County Council - sponsored Taste of the Eastern Shore legislative event in Annapolis, Maryland.

*  Ability to travel to in-state conferences on occasion.

Requirements:

3+ years experience working with all aspects of the grant process from inception to close-out

Competent working with MS Office Suite

Familiarity with the budgeting process

Competent performing administrative tasks

Associate degree in related field, or higher

Ability to work independently

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Dispatcher
Full Time, 40 hours weekly
$11.79 hour

Operation runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hours will be a combination of days, evenings, nights, overnights and weekends. Must be flexible on hours and days.

*  First point of contact with bus operators during emergencies
*  Monitor/track/respond to radio communications with bus operators
*  Assign vehicles to specific routes, based on route demands and vehicle availability
*  Distribute manifests to drivers
*  Receive/record requests from Origin to Destination customers for scheduled pick-ups

Accounting Associate

The Tri-County Council (TCC) is a regional government entity seeking a new team member for its finance staff of four. The department handles all financial functions for the organization as well as extensive grant administration of federal, state, and local funding. The selected candidate will be trained in the rules and regulations of the various funding sources. This position will require core accounting skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively, work in a team environment, and develop process and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*  Create monthly invoicing of partners and other programs
*  Perform monthly financial close procedure on various programs
*  Federal, state, and local grants administration

*  Sub-grant fiscal monitoring

*  Bank account reconciliation

*  Administer fiscal projections for various programs

Requirements:
*  Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or better preferred

*  Fluent in Excel to the level of advanced user

*  QuickBooks experience

*  Demonstrate the ability to gather, manage and effectively communicate with all stakeholders

*  Demonstrate ability to problem solve by identifying & resolving problems in a timely manner

*  Demonstrate ability to develop methods for conveying complex financial data in an understandable format

*  Ability to prioritize tasks and have good time management skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operates assigned vehicle to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule
  • Picks up and drops off passengers to scheduled medical appointments.
  • Schedule will include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays, varying shifts & routes

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a current CDL B Driver’s Permit with air brakes & passenger endorsement
  • Valid DOT physical
  • Acceptable current driving record
  • Physically able to load/unload and secure wheelchair customers
  • Employment contingent on satisfactory results of mandatory DOT drug screening and background check
