Child Advocacy Center Coordinator

Responsibilities:

The main purpose of this position is to effectively maintain and promote the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center (WCAC) through coordination, facilitation and ongoing regular personal contact with all partner agencies. This position will apply for and complete the accreditation standards are met and maintained while at times, providing customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds the standards set by the WCAC.

 

This position collaborates with the Child Advocacy Center on efforts to improve crime victim services between the Wicomico County Department of Social Services, Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office, Wicomico Sheriff's Department, Salisbury City Police, and Life Crisis Center. This position will also collaborate with other allied law enforcement agencies responding to Wicomico County citizens, mental health providers, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Wicomico County Board of Education, and any other community provider involved in the delivery of services to the WCAC's identified population.

 

This position uses data base applications to compile, monitor and transmit to WCAC administrator(s) and grant funding sources statistical information, fiscal reports, program evaluation as specified by regulations and requirements. Develops and delivers community education and awareness presentations and activities relevant to child abuse awareness/prevention; and all other services of the WCAC. It also serves as a liaison to WCAC Advisory Board, "The Friends of the WCAC", the Southern Region NCAC chapter and the Maryland Children's Alliance.

 

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related behavioral science is required; Master's Degree in Social Work or related behavioral science preferred

 

Ability to work well with a wide variety of people, including children and adults who have social, economic, emotional, behavioral or health problems

 

Great written communication skills, the ability to accurately convey complex and/or nuanced information, and attention to detail

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, other agencies and institutions and the general public

 

Knowledge of human growth and development; the emotional, social, economic and physical needs of children and adults; individual and group behavior; social implications of various diseases or disabilities

 

Knowledge of and experience in the operation of personal computers and various software packages

Experience with grant-writing is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

* A few of the duties include supporting vertical market software packages, helping users with desktop issues, onboarding new employees with timekeeping and policies, company cell phone administration and inventory control.

 

Requirements:

* Candidates must have at least 2 years' experience in IT help desk support and/or desktop administration. Desktop administration certificates such as A+, Microsoft 365 Certified, and others are not a requirement but must be acquired within the first year and maintained annually.

Regional Communications Platform Developer

The Regional Communications Platform Developer is an individual eager to play a key role in the Tri-County Council's new regional branding and marketing strategy for the three counties of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. The position will be attractive to an individual who enjoys a semi-autonomous, creative atmosphere oriented toward projecting the effectiveness and visibility of an important regional organization. The ability to "brainstorm" with senior management and lead the conversation when necessary and essential.


Introduction

As the Regional Communication Platform Developer you will be working on the ground level with senior management, including tech services, to vision, design and implement a robust and identifiably regional electronic platform employing "user first" functionality. You will have an instinctual understanding of the organization's regional mission and mandate within the context of projecting same through the use and development of website, social media, interactive dashboards, marketing materials, etc. The role combines a high aptitude for structuring content and functionality based on a set of metric derived from close and regular interaction with a broad range of community stakeholders in the government and private sectors.

 

What is the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore?

The Tri-County Council (TCC) was formed in 2001 by the Maryland General  Assembly and charged with fostering partnerships, cooperation and economic development on a Regional level for teh three counties of the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland (LESMD). In recent years the TCC has successfully consolidated the operations of the three-county transit system, the regional work force development team and a regional economic development function into an 86,000 sq ft Multi-purpose Center located on its 26-acre campus in Salisbury, Maryland. As the entity singularly charged with promoting economic development on a regional level in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties, TCC is positioning its existing resources in a manner calculated to have the greatest long-term and sustainable economic impact in the area.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

* Ability to design and administer complex websites using html, coding, WordPress or similar

* Desktop Publishing experience. Able to create materials on projects.

* Work closely with multiple municipalities, staff and stakeholders to gather web content information and web development.

* Develop content for and administer the organization's social media outlets

* Ability to create and distribute newsletters to keep the Partners, TCC Employees and the Board of Directors apprised on happenings.

* Ability to provide support to staff in the Technical Services Department

 

Requirements:

* 3+ years experience working with Adobe Create suite and desktop publishing

* 3+ years experience working with WordPress and other web technologies

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 4 or more years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Visual design skills to create user experience

* Working understanding of search engine optimization

* Self-starter, able to take a project and complete it with little supervision

* Ability to work independently
